Located on a quiet street lined with palm trees and private homes, Tickled Pink has been a labour of love for Ann M. Buck and Ian Terence James Buck for the past few years. In the fall of 2013 Ann and Ian were looking for homes on Harbour Island. One day in October, after a long morning looking at numerous homes and finding nothing that satisfied their requirements, they decided to take a break from house hunting and go on a little fishing excursion. It was while they were fishing that their luck changed when Ann caught the most beautiful pink mutton fish that either of them had ever seen.
Encouraged by their fishing success they decided to resume their house hunting and look at a few more homes before calling it a day. It was during this time that they stumbled upon what would later become Tickled Pink. Although it was clearly in need of repair and renovations, Ann and Ian immediately saw the potential of the little cottage. They spent 8 months renovating and decorating Tickled Pink, putting the utmost care and consideration into every little detail, from the quaint front porch to the comfortable and elegant bedrooms. When they had completed renovations they were at a loss of what to name their charming little cottage. Thinking back to the day they purchased the cottage they remembered the beautiful pink “mutton snapper” fish that Ann caught, and the renewed hope it gave them in their search. So in honour of the lucky pink mutton snapper fish they named their cottage ‘Tickled Pink’.
Born and raised on Harbour Island, Ann will be more than happy to provide you with any information you need about this quaint little island, from where to purchase your groceries, to rental of beach chairs, to the best watering holes for happy hour. Ann and Ian now live next door to Tickled Pink and will ensure that you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay on the island.
